For a pretty good and thorough book on meth that explains meth addiction and getting clean, try

Overcoming Crystal Meth Addiction by Steven Lee

I say "pretty good" because I think that the book does have it's issues but, overall, it's pretty useful and one of the better non-memoir meth books out there.  Lee  is a private practice physician and addiction psychiatrist in New York City.  He works in the addiction field and has put together one of the few books that concentrates on crystal meth addiction - what it is, it's effects and how to overcome it.  Lee talks about how crystal meth is made, what it does to your body and goes into detail about meth addiction.  He has information about determining if you are addicted to meth.  Hint: if you're using it, you're probably addicted to it.  He also has information about harm reduction and how to stop using if you are ready to quit.

Sounds like a great book, right? So why the criticism.  Well, this guy teaches at Columbia University and this book is riddled with grammar and spelling mistakes.  That's pretty unforgivable in my book.  However, in the active meth addict's book, that may be another story.  I have no idea why an educated physician can't put out a fully literate book but, if you're looking for some comprehensive information about meth and meth addiction and can get past that stuff, this may be your ticket.  There are plenty of people that have been able to see past the flaws and get a lot out of the material and that is one of the reasons that I wanted to review the book here.  That and the fact that there aren't a lot of good meth books to choose from.
